Fireworks and Bonfire 2016

Another successful Bonfire Night!

Leaders,SASU Members, Helpers,Supporters and Explorer Scouts managed the Hall Park Rear Gate and collected more than 500 tickets and mountains of cash to support the Nene Valley District's Annual Display. Irthlingborough's Group will benefit from our support for the event.

A good but cold time was had by all.....

Cubs 100 Year Celebrations

CUBS ARE 100 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR!

This weekend especially celebrated 100 years of the founding of Cub Scouts World-Wide with every Pack encouraged to have a special event to mark this occasion.

Irthlingborough chose a weekend camp at Overstone and 15 Cubs and their Leader Team had great fun partying and having activities planned for them in the extentsive woodlands at this superb Scouting Centre.

The verdict was that everyone had a great weekend and this camp also enabled Karen Hutchinson to gain her Permit for taking Cubs away for activities.

Well done and thanks to all the Leader Team who supported her.

Holloween Party 2016

Beavers and Cubs celebrated Halloween with a party at the Band Club Hall.

More than 30 Young People came along and all dressed up in scary costumes, ate superb food and enjoyed a Disco for games and lots of fun.

Thanks must go to all of the Leader Team for working so hard to put on a 'horror show'.

Thanks Badge for builder

The Group was pleased to be able to say "Thank you" in Scouting's way for a Good Deed.

During the construction of the new 21-house development adjacent to the Scout Headquarters. The builders SMDL New Homes co-operated with us during the access problems associated with the footpath closure.

For his kind support and for the provision of a new tarmac-surfaced footpath allowing us much improved access, the Thanks Badge was presented to Mr.John Leydon, Director, SMDL New Homes thus showing our appreciation.

Irthlingborough Carnival 2016

Scouting played it's part in the Town's Annual Carnival with the Beavers and Cubs winning a Silver Cup for their entry in the Parade depicting 100 years of Cub Scouts.

Despite hours of preparation the day was spoiled by heavy rain but this did not stop the fun and music!

Scouts and Explorer Scouts headed the Parade with our 100 year-old Trek Cart giving out the change and the Young People almost drowning in the circuit of the Town.......

The Scout Active Support Unit arranged teas, coffee and soft drinks at the Recreation Ground.

We had a surprise visit from the Pirates of the Caribbean (Lisa and Nick), and this gave everyone a chance to win some Rum (and other prizes) on our Treasure Island Game.

Sincere thanks to all who supported the event, the Beaver and Cub Leaders, Helpers, Leaders and the the SASU Team
