Santa Claus came to Irthlingborough!

Hordes of local children visited the Grotto set up specially by Santa's Elves(Scouts!) and Helpers. Everyone received a gift as part of Scouting's contribution to this superb Town event.

Jolly Santa had a special word for each child.......

Whilst patiently waiting, the parents could enjoy a warming cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate provided by the Scout Active Support Unit.

Mrs. Christmas (Lisa) set up her stall to sell Christmas Illuminated Novelties with the whole effort raising funds for our Scouting activities.

An opportunity was also taken to present a cheque of £153.00 to the Royal British Legion as proceeds from the tea and coffee at the Remembrance Sunday event on Parsons Green.

The Scout TOTE was drawn for December as well as the winner of the Christmas Bonus Hamper.

A hearty "thank-you" to everyone for helping and supporting this event.

Remembrance Sunday commenced with a walk to St.Peter's Church for the Service. At the Scout Memorial Poppies made by the Cubs and Beavers were then laid at the grave.

The entire event was very well supported by the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and their Leaders. They proudly paraded the Group's colours and laid a Poppy Wreath at the War Memorial.

Fred Harris, our Beaver Leader, sounded the Last Post at the Act of Remembrance.

All our Young People enjoyed Hot Dogs and Soft Drinks afterwards at Parsons Green.

The Scout Active Support Unit offered tea and coffee to the Townsfolk and managed to donate over £150.00 to the Royal British Legion thanks to the kind generosity of the public.
