Bezerk was the order of the day (and night!)

Our Beavers joined with over 100 of the Nene Valley District Beavers to take part in a sleep-over at the Bezerk Play and Adventure Centre at Northampton.

Fun and games were the ingredients for a sleepless night for lots of the Beavers and most of the Leaders!

As the pictures show, all appeared to have enjoyed a fun-sized sleepover!

Thanks must go to our Leader Team - Fred,Karen M,Emily and Claire - all became survivors of Bezerk.

Irthlingborough Civic Service 2017

On Sunday 5th March the Group was invited to attend the Annual Mayor's Civic Service which was supported by many Local Civic Leaders and particularly Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant for Northamptonshire, Mr.David Laing.

My thanks to the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts, Frederick Harris and Lyle Abbott who joined me the event at St.Peter's Church.

The Lord Lieutenant was very pleased to meet with the Young People and had a personal word with them all.

Well done to all the Young People for your smart presentation and impeccable behaviour in Church and to proudly parading our Colours.

Brass Monkeys 2017!

Well the Mud took over the Brass Monkey Camp again this year!

Scouts and their Leaders braved a very wet weekend at Overstone Scout Centre. They all earned the much sought-after Brass Monkey Pennant for spending a winter's night under canvas.

Thanks to the good quality Vango Tents all remained dry enjoying the great outdoors.

Karen took this camp on as part of her Camping Qualifications and made an excellent job of it. Congratulations!

Fred's Training Achievements

The Group was pleased to recognise Fred's dedication to Scouting in Irthlingborough by being the only Leader to have gained the Wood Badge Training Certificates in all sections.

Well done Fred and we all acknowledge your contribution to our Young People's Training needs.

Our Town Mayor Councillor Allan Short kindly came along to the weekly Scout Meeting and presented the Chief Scout's Gold Award to Scouts Ben and Charlie and the Chief Scout's Silver Award to Scout Lewis.

These well-deserved and prestigious Awards represent hard work and dedication to Scouting and the recipients were congratulated by the Mayor on behalf of the Town Council
