I Grow Christmas Fayre

Our Beaver Colony and the Scout Active Support Unit provided a 'Soft Toy Stall' and a 'Tombola' Stall at the Christmas Fayre, raising funds to help us to provide Group Activities for our Young People and support our Headquarters Building.Great support by our Parents and Friends made this possible! As part of the event we were pleased to present a cheque for £155.00 to the Royal British Legion as proceeds from the Remembrance Sunday refreshment tent organised by the Scout Active Support Unit.

Beavers try Indian Food!

The Beaver Scouts had a great international experience! The Colony and their Leaders went along to the 'Eastern Spice' Restaurant and sampled poppadums, korma curry and all the trimmings. Hosted by the attentive staff at the restaurant, the Young People had a taste of a new cuisine - and all agreed it was 'great'! NEWS FLASH !! But it was a FIRST for the Beavers - new Beavers Scouts were invested at the restaurant - maybe the first-ever at an Indian Restaurant!!

Group Camp - Gt.Barford - 2019

Despite threatening weather, most of the weekend was dry and fine. Scouts, Cubs and Beavers supported by their Leaders enjoyed a fun-packed weekend. Karen Marriott was presented with her Chief Scouts Commendation by District Commissioner Michele Hunt - well done Karen and thank you for you continued great support for our Scouting Group. Thanks to all our Leader Team for arranging another first-class activity for our Young People!

Mary G - Sailing Weekend 2019

In September, the Young People were given a great opportunity to crew and take part in a sailing weekend at Ipswich. The event was kindly given by Mr. and Mrs Alan Watts and proved it's usual great success! Scouts and Explorer Scouts enjoyed a trip along the Orwell and sailing into the North Sea. Thanks to the Leader Team who supported our Young People and arranged a camping weekend to provide this activity.

Irthlingborough Carnival 2019

Success again for the Group! Cubs entered their 'Teddy Bears Picnic' float and won a Silver Cup! Well done! Explorer Scouts headed the Town Parade with our 1914 Trek Cart giving out the change - and winning yet another Cup.... All this was supported by the Scout Active Support Unit's Refreshment Stall raising funds for our own Scout Group.
