Royal British Legion 90th Anniversary - 15th October 2011

Over 40 of our Young People (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts) with their Leaders and our District Commissioner were very smartly turned out to act as markers and take part in the parade commemorating the 90th Anniversary Parade of the Wellingborough Royal British Legion.

Military vehicles, a Caledonian Pipe Band, a platoon from ‘Dad’s Army’ ,War Veterans and many RBL Flag-bearers and other youth organisations supported this splendid event and two of our Explorers accompanied the Official Party including HM Lord Lieutenant for Northamptonshire at the taking of the Salute in the march-past.

The parade dismissed at the Wellingborough Museum and the Young People had an opportunity to see the vehicles close-up and visit the many interesting exhibits within the Museum.
