Remembrance Sunday commenced with a walk to St.Peter's Church for the Service. At the Scout Memorial Poppies made by the Cubs and Beavers were then laid at the grave.

The entire event was very well supported by the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and their Leaders. They proudly paraded the Group's colours and laid a Poppy Wreath at the War Memorial.

Fred Harris, our Beaver Leader, sounded the Last Post at the Act of Remembrance.

All our Young People enjoyed Hot Dogs and Soft Drinks afterwards at Parsons Green.

The Scout Active Support Unit offered tea and coffee to the Townsfolk and managed to donate over £150.00 to the Royal British Legion thanks to the kind generosity of the public.

Whipsnade Takeover by Cubs!

On September 24th, the Cubs joined with the Nene Valley District to attend a "Tale-Over Day" at Whipsnade Zoo to celebrate 100 years of Cub Scouts. Arriving at 10am, we joined the thousands of other Cubs from all over the UK, ready to start our animal adventure! We were guided over to the Butterfly enclosure, where each Cub was given a pack containing maps, leaflets, magazines a special commemmorative story book and of course, a Badge. We were then free to enjoy the day.

First stop was the petting farm, where we met Turkeys, Goats (one was trying to escape!), a Unicorn, with it's horn removed for Safety Reasons - actually a small white Pony. Cubs asked to go to the play area to let off some steam before our trip to Africa. On the way the Cubs decided that it was lunch time despite Alela's watch saying it was only 11am!

Despite tired little legs we walked around five Continents, meeting Elephants, Rhinos, Bears, Lions, Wallablies, Chimpanzees, Penguins, Crocodiles and we even stretched as far as we could to feed the Giraffes! At the end of the day some very tired Cubs and equally exhausted Leaders boarded the coach home and were accompanied by the sound of gentle snoring!

What a fabulous way to commemorate 100 years of Cub Scouting alongside some of the Jungle Book animals!

Beavers Support Foodbank

The Beaver Colonies and their parents worked hard to gather together food items for the Town's Foodbank.

Thank you to the Leaders and Helpers who arranged this collection and to all who supported this most deserving cause!

Fireworks and Bonfire 2016

Another successful Bonfire Night!

Leaders,SASU Members, Helpers,Supporters and Explorer Scouts managed the Hall Park Rear Gate and collected more than 500 tickets and mountains of cash to support the Nene Valley District's Annual Display. Irthlingborough's Group will benefit from our support for the event.

A good but cold time was had by all.....

Cubs 100 Year Celebrations

This weekend especially celebrated 100 years of the founding of Cub Scouts World-Wide with every Pack encouraged to have a special event to mark this occasion.

Irthlingborough chose a weekend camp at Overstone and 15 Cubs and their Leader Team had great fun partying and having activities planned for them in the extentsive woodlands at this superb Scouting Centre.

The verdict was that everyone had a great weekend and this camp also enabled Karen Hutchinson to gain her Permit for taking Cubs away for activities.

Well done and thanks to all the Leader Team who supported her.
