May Day Celebrations 2018

On May Day Monday the Explorer Scouts contributed to the fun on Parsons Green by providing refreshments and to promote Scouting in the Town. Funds were raised for their activities and the Explorer Scouts received a cheque from the I Grow Organisers on behalf of the Scout Group.

Ledbury Camp 2018

Members of the Titans Explorer Scouts travelled to Ledbury for a weekend activity camp. The event was organised by the Scout Active Support Unit and supervised by the Leaders, included Map Reading Instruction followed by a Hike, a visit to a Cider Making Factory and learning new skills with lightweight cooking. Thanks to the SASU Members and Leaders, it was a most successful weekend.

Explorer Scout Investiture

New Explorer Scout Abbie was invested on Remembrance Sunday in advance of attending the Town's Remembrance Service - congratulations, good Scouting and best wishes!

Titans Explorer Scout Unit

The ‘ TITANS’ Explorer Scout Unit is made up of Young People principally from Irthlingborough who meet together and have an exciting programme – all part of the Nene Valley District Scouts.

Most activities are organised by the Explorers themselves, under qualified Adult Leadership and is open to young men and women 14-18 years old.

The activity programme is varied and contributes to the Chief Scouts Diamond and Platinum Award and towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme – which is a Nationally recognised achievement.

Meetings are usually held on a Tuesday evening at the Irthlingborough Scout Headquarters.

Many of our Young Leaders have found that being an Explorer Scout gives them an introduction into Leadership and the incentive to gain the prestigious Queens Scout Award when they become part of Scout Network.
